Meet the Founder
Tessa McGilberry
Founder of TruePath Academics · Software professional with 20+ years of experience
I participated in and placed in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry Olympiads during middle and high school in Belarus. Years later, as a parent helping my daughter prepare for CogAT testing and UIL Number Sense, I saw how difficult structured at-home preparation can be—especially for children.
Information was scattered across resources; not every site worked well on Chromebooks or mobile devices; and realistic timed practice under contest rules was hard to find. Too often, fixed question lists and the same answer order let students memorize a pattern instead of learning the underlying concept.
That is why I built TruePath: a practical system students can use independently to build real skill, while parents can see progress without having to run every practice session.
How Educational Content Is Created and Reviewed
Tessa creates and reviews the learning content, then tests the practice experience in real sessions with her daughter. The goal is to help students learn concepts and make decisions—not remember a question number or where the right answer appeared last time.
Practice that stays fresh
Math programs use generated questions rather than a fixed list, so students practice the skill in new forms instead of memorizing familiar prompts.
Answers that require thinking
Answer choices are shuffled, and programs such as Science draw from larger question pools to reduce answer-position memorization.
Practice for the moment that matters
When a test or contest has its own timing and rules, TruePath includes focused practice modes designed to help students rehearse that experience.
TruePath provides original practice and preparation support. It does not publish official CogAT, UIL, school-district, or contest tests, and no placement or contest result is guaranteed.
How TruePath Content Is Built
- Original practice is designed around the skill a student is meant to practice.
- Questions are reviewed for clarity, grade fit, and a useful response format before they are released.
- Explanations are written to teach a method or idea, not simply reveal the answer.
- Timed modes help students rehearse preparation needs; they are not official exams or official contest materials.
- Content and learning flows are updated as families use the product and feedback identifies a clearer approach.
Current review model
Today, TruePath content is created and reviewed by founder Tessa McGilberry. The product does not claim independent educator or subject-expert review where that review has not occurred.
Updates with a reason
Updates may clarify a prompt, improve an explanation, adjust grade fit, or make the practice flow easier for a student to use independently.
Original-material policy
TruePath publishes original practice and preparation support. It does not reproduce official UIL, CogAT, school-district, or contest questions as its own material.
If an educator or subject expert joins the work in the future, TruePath will identify that person’s actual role and the content they reviewed. We will not imply an endorsement or independent review that does not exist.
